John appeared five times for Leigh in 2007 and despite early progress, Hill's season was cruelly cut short in March as he succumbed to separate knee and shoulder injuries during the Centurions 22-14 Bridgend defeat to Celtic Crusaders.
John originally came through Warrington's youth programme after excelling as a Wigan schoolboy, gaining international selection to the schoolboy squad in 1998.
He made his first team debut during the Wolves 2001 Challenge Cup run and then added four more substitute appearances in 2002. He later spent time with Chorley before a dream move to St Helens. Despite regular Academy form he made just one appearance before another loan move to troubled Halifax. A return to Chorley finally kick-started Hill’s career and further stints with Blackpool and then Rochdale led to Darren Shaw acquiring his services for Leigh.
