Experienced prop Andy Hobson, is an uncompromising and tough forward and another new recruit for Leigh in 2008. Andy began his professional career in 1998 after previously playing amateur rugby with King Cross. He signed for Halifax as an eighteen year old and spent the next six seasons with the Shay based side, clocking up 146 games before their relegation.
A transfer to Widnes followed in 2004. That spell at the Halton Stadium lasted just 12 months and 19 games before Andy returned to the Shay for a second spell.
Another two seasons with Halifax followed for the big forward before Ireland coach Andy Kelly snapped his signature up for Dewsbury Rams.
Last season the powerful forward was a regular in the Rams ranks appearing in 23 games and scoring two tries including excellent games against Fax and Leigh.
