Dave Alstead is a model of consistency for Leigh and a solid, committed and combative player to boot. Dave returned to the club at the start of last season and proved to be one of Darren Shaw’s shrewdest signings.
The former Ince St Williams junior offers cover at centre, wing and fullback and has represented Lancashire Academy.
Dave began his professional career at Warrington, making 34 appearances, and has also played for Rochdale and Swinton where he appeared in their National League Two Grand Final. Alstead was also a member of the Leigh team that won promotion in dramatic style in 2004. Last term Alstead scored hat-tricks against London Skolars and Doncaster and finished the year with 14 tries from 26 appearances. He has now appeared over 60 times in Leigh colours and is contracted until the end of 2009.
