The older brother of former Academy international and Warrington player Simon was a specialist fullback who joined hometown Halifax from Siddal in 2001. He quickly became an academy regular at ‘Fax before a short term move to Doncaster in 2003 resulted in 9 first team games. In that spell, he scored 3 tries and kicked two goals.

2004 saw Grix push through to the Halifax first team as a utility back and he made his debut in a Challenge Cup tie in Limoux. He went on to play 18 times that season, scoring 8 tries, including one that helped preserve Fax’ National League One status in a narrow 34-30 win over York. Last season Grix played for Warrington’s Senior Academy alongside his brother.
