Injury
blighted Govin’s progress last season, but Govin continued to show
potential and endeavour and no little skill in a team that became
dispirited as the season wore on. Originally snapped up from
Warrington, Govin proved an important cog in the 2004 Senior
Academy, helping Leigh win the Grand Final.
Able to play both halfback and hooker, he was
rewarded with a fulltime deal at the start of last season and was
tipped to make his mark on Super League. An elusive runner with a
shrewd short kicking game, Govin signed a new deal with the club
before being told that he needed an operation. He will be looking
for regular first team action upon his return later this term.
